Intangible assets

An intangible asset is a movable asset by nature which represents a financial value as it entitles its holder to either use certain goods or to obtain certain privileges from other people. Intangible assets are not physical items but abstract items as they have no physical existence even though the law considers intangible assets to be movable assets.

Examples: patents and other intellectual property rights, shares in a company etc.
